O God, who by the Immaculate Conception
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
did prepare a worthy dwelling place for Your Son,
we beseech You that, as by the foreseen death of this, Your Son, You did preserve Her from all stain,
so too You would permit us, purified through Her intercession, to come unto You.

We are excited to be able to share with our friends in Christ and our Catholic community this home page. We hope to share with you our parish and the many wonderful things God is doing in our church. If you are in the Merkel area we invite you to celebrate Mass with us. May the Lord Bless you!

Our Mother Of Mercy Catholic Church is located in Merkel, Texas. Merkel is located 15 miles west of Abilene, in Taylor County on U.S. Interstate 20.

Our Church is part of the Diocese of San Angelo, Texas. Our Bishop is the Most Revered Michael Pfeifer, OMI.

We currently do not have a resident priest. However we are blessed with two visiting priests from the Sweetwater parish of Holy Family. Father Michael Goode C.P.P.S. and Assistant Pastor Father Sam Homsey C.P.P.S.

As Catholic Christians we are all called to "Holiness". It is our hope that this web site will be a positive direction for you as we all strive to walk with Christ.

Worship Schedule And Times
**DUE TO FATHER HOMSEY'S UPCOMING VACATION, MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED ON SATURDAY EVENINGS AT 7:00 P.M. DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. WEDNESDAY EVENING MASS WILL REMAIN AT ITS USUAL TIME OF 7:00 P.M. CCD CLASSES WILL CONTINUE BEING TAUGHT ON SUNDAY MORNINGS AN HOUR LATER AT 10:30 A.M.**

CCD Classes-
Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

Confession-
Sundays at 10:45 a.m.
Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m.
(Or by appointment. Please call the Holy Family Catholic Church in Sweetwater at 915-235-2694.)

Mass-
Sunday 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday 7:00 p.m.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the last Wednesday of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

For baptisms, weddings, funerals or instruction:
Contact Dianne Hernandez church secretary on weekdays from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at 915-928-5239.

All other times please contact Holy Family Catholic Church in Sweetwater at 915-235-2694.
